Position Description


JOB SUMMARY
The Data Entry and No Wrong Door Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate data entry and processing for the No Wrong Door PeerPlace information system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Learns the No Wrong Door PeerPlace, the prescribed statewide database of the Virginia Department of Aging and Rehabilitative Services;
• Performs data entry from customer intake requests for services.
• Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
• Maintains the No Wrong Door PeerPlace database and ensures data integrity throughout the PeerPlace system to confirm service referrals within Bay Aging and outside to community partners are completed and customers are receiving all the services they need.
• Purges files to eliminate duplication of data.
• Processes data for monthly and quarterly reports, and as requested.
• Will expand NWD partnerships to include all Departments of Social Services in the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck, the Community Services Board and other community partners.
• Provides support and professional customer service to Bay Aging by assisting Options Counselors with requests via telephone, email and in person, to provide information/ answers as appropriate.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of data entry processes.
• Willingness to quickly learn and efficiently manage the No Wrong Door PeerPlace system.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to properly handle and manage confidential data.
• Ability to prioritize and systematize work independently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing, with people at all levels of the organization.
• Strong customer service skills with a desire to help people receive the services they need.
• Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Office-based position with minimal physical requirements (ability to lift 20lbs, walking and climbing stairs); ability to sit for long periods of time entering data into systems and processing information. None of the essential functions of the position can be performed remotely. Will travel to Department of Social Service Offices within our service region.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Associates Degree or higher.
• Data entry experience preferable or related office experience.
• Excellent computer skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must have valid driver’s license.





FLSA status: This is a full- time non-exempt position.
